The Timbers look to make their first MLS cup appearance since 2018 and add another trophy to their cabinet with the 2015 title being a franchise first. Portland come into Saturday’s game riding a five-game win streak, dating back to the regular season. Both clubs have been to the MLS Cup twice so whoever wins Saturday will make their third appearance with both looking for a second title. In eight previous meetings, there has only been one clean sheet. Real Salt Lake’s last win in Portland came in 2017. Head-to-head in the last five fixtures, Portland has won four of the last five games. These two clubs will kick off the Western Conference final on Saturday in Portland. This weekend will see the MLS Conference Finals: New York FC visiting Philadelphia for the Eastern crown and Real Salt Lake taking on Portland at Providence Park for bragging rights out West.
